Instruction to Google, Apple, Telecom ISPs
“Upon receiving recent credible inputs that such apps pose threat to sovereignty and integrity of India, the Government of India has decided to disallow the usage both on mobile and non-mobile Internet-enabled devices,” the Ministry of Electronics and IT (Meity) said in a statement.
So, it is very likely that Govt has issued instructions to App Store and Google Play Store in this regard. Also, telecom service providers would be asked to disencourage the usage of these apps and block access to them on their networks. Hence, even if the app is installed before ban, it won’t be able to pull new content through Indian ISP.
Indians are very happy with the Government’s decision and support it’s decision to ban these apps during ‘No China Products’ campain. Wondering Why it’s time to say No China Products? Read this post: Why it’s time to say No China Products?
